In 2005, Maureen created The Necessities Bag in an effort to help mastectomy patients prepare for their personal needs in the hospital and during recovery at home.
The cornerstone of the program is the Woman to Woman Guide to Prepare for Mastectomy, which is included in a reusable tote filled with bandages and esentials for wound care, hygiene, and personal comfort.
The Necessities mission is to support the mastectomy patient and their concerned caregiver with information and supplies that will help in navigating pre-surgical turmoil and the challenges of homecoming.
